Yard Service - Why not hire out?

Are you looking for some one to maintain your lawn? Do you have hedges that need trimming or trees that need pruning? Hiring a yard service individual or company is a simple labor free way to maintain your property, and it can be very cost effective.

A professional yard service agency will provide a wide array of scheduled maintenance duties such as lawn care (cutting, trimming and cleanup). As well as general turf management jobs such as aerating, dethatching, seeding, pest and weed control. Often they will provide additional services such as hedge trimming, tree pruning, blowing, raking, spreading, clearing and garden care. If they provide “odd job” services as well, they will likely perform gutter cleanups, garbage clean up, pressure washing tree felling and hauling.

Professional yard service companies use all their own mowing and power equipment etc., they will (should) come and give free estimates and will usually work at either an hourly rate or an up front bid price. If time is money, or you are unable to perform your own yard services, hiring professionals may be your best option.

Cheaper options

A cheaper alternative can be to hire a student or individual who will perform some yard services “on the side” or during summer months. Often you will have to provide the mower or necessary equipment, and have to personally manage each duty, as they may not be experienced professionals.

Go to yellowpages.com and do a search for “yard service” or “lawn maintenance” for your local area and all advertising nearby companies should come up. Also, a quick scan through your local phonebook or newspaper should yield similar results. Finding students to work for you may be a little more difficult if they don’t advertise in the same way, if at all. It may be necessary to put an ad in the local paper or canvass the neighborhood to find willing applicants.
