Glass top dining table...decisions decisions..

The most important part of any dining room is the table set. The table, being in the center of the room, is also the strong focal point of the room. It can and will be viewed from every different angle, so table choice is very significant. The table is also the one piece of furniture in the room that will likely receive the most use, by far, along with its chairs.

In my opinion, one of the most unique choices is a glass top dining table. How often do you see an expensive, and beautifully finished wooden dining table…covered and hidden with a table cloth. Trick question, I suppose. Who wants to pay for an expensive, perfectly finished wooden dining table and then allow it to be exposed to the wear and tear of normal everyday use? First comes the custom sized table top protective pad, then add a vinyl table cloth, duct taped around underneath to keep it in place so it can catch the spills. After all this, a nice table cloth becomes a necessary covering, which also has a way of hiding the table legs and chairs as well. Or, despite your best efforts, the table does become damaged, and the table cloth becomes a way to hide the table. Why not just close and lock those French doors and turn the room into a museum, “look, but don’t touch,” status? I’ve seen those rooms too..
